10-18 FEB 2017 YOGA & TIBETAN BUDDHIST MEDITATION WITH ADELE ROBERTSON & LUCY MURRAY
We are delighted to welcome back Adele Robertson to Cherai Beach in 2017 for her fifth yoga holiday and introducing her co-teacher Lucy Murray
Adele has been a British Wheel of Yoga teacher for over 10 years. She specialises in making yoga accessible for all stages of life and welcomes you on her holiday, no matter what your level of experience. Her style is influenced by her studies with Viniyoga, Iyengar Yoga and Tibetan Buddhist Meditation teachers.
Drawing on experience from teachings over a 20 year period, Lucy's yoga is naturally an eclectic blend, offering students both variety and depth. With an emphasis on physical safety, her students are encouraged to make choices for themselves and to work in a way which leads towards serenity, harmony and well-being. Lucy has a particular interest in Tibetan Buddhist Meditation and Yoga to promote mental health.
A typical day on Adele and Lucy's holiday will start with a morning yoga class (asana, pranayama and relaxation). After breakfast, you are free to relax by the beach or pool, enjoy an Ayurvedic massage (not included in holiday price) or explore and shop locally.
Lucy and Adele both study with the Mahasiddha Yoga Group in Oxford. Tibetan Buddhist Meditation is at the heart of Adele and Lucy’s practice and they will give teachings on 'Shamatha' meditation on this holiday.
These practices teach us to look at the mind and let go of unnecessary mental activity, ideal for developing your personal mediation practice should you wish to. You can make this yoga holiday as relaxing or as adventurous as you want it to be; a time for relaxation and healing with winter sun, or your base for an Indian adventure to explore Kerala.
If you are adding on the Tamil Nadu Tour, please note the start date is 19th Feb which means there will be a charge for one extra night at Cherai Beach. The internal flight to Chennai will be on 19th Feb.
TESTIMONIALS
"If you enjoy exercise, massages and beauty treatments, experiencing different cultures, delicious Indian cuisine, shopping, warm seas and idyllic beaches with like-minded people in a beautiful hot climate, then I would highly recommend this holiday as it delivers all of this and more. I had a truly memorable time and the yoga was fantastic." Joyce, Somerset (Adele's Yoga United holiday 2015)
“I had been looking forward to my yoga holiday in Kerala so much and it didn’t disappoint. Everyone was so friendly and the resort was fabulous. I have been doing yoga with Adele for over 5 years, and her depth of knowledge of the teachings of yoga and meditation is amazing. Adele’s classes are very inclusive, so whatever age or ability you are, she will help you get the most benefit and fun out of the session. To go with her to practice in the beauty and warmth of India was really special!”

"A typical day for me on this holiday started by watching the sunrise over the backwaters with a cup of tea, then heading off to the yoga studio with my daughter. The yoga practise here really is suitable for everyone. Adele has an inclusive, non-pressured, gentle teaching style with modifications for beginners and advanced students alike. My daughter, who has only done yoga once before, was able to participate fully and really enjoyed it. We loved the relaxed, friendly atmosphere around Cherai and even in the local busy town we never felt hassled or unsafe. The buffet food in the resort is delicious. It's great to try a little bit of everything and sample curry for breakfast if you fancy it! We also ate in the nearby cafes and beach shacks, the food was good everywhere and we didn't get ill.
The sea was warm and calm in the mornings with waves in the afternoons. The sunsets on the beach are just beautiful. On this holiday we enjoyed the most wonderful massages, an Elephant festival, shopping in Fort Kochi, having an Indian Churidar outfit made at the tailors, a bhajan performance and so much more. I can't recommend this holiday with Adele highly enough."
