CPD Workshop - Anxiety & Depression
Resources for yoga practitioners, teachers, therapists & circle facilitators.
We will explore practices that can support the mental disturbances of both anxiety and depression, that meet fear head on and harness its energy to shift mood. We will work with somatic expression, opposites, forgotten resources as well as new ones, take time to unwind and notice resistance – to read the body signals that show how much is enough and not too much and move into states of acknowledging, accepting and allowing felt sensations to move through the body. Creating space for the magic happen on its own without forcing takes a courageous heart and can be messy. Your spirit/soul/self is here to support you in accepting yourself just as you are. You don’t have to do this alone. You will be equipped with resources to support others in understanding and shifting beliefs.

Resources for yoga practitioners, teachers, therapists & circle facilitators - With Judy Hirsh Sampath
When we stop keeping our body and mind busy, slow down and find time to rest, there is often an underlying fear, anxiety and depression that rises to the surface. Our minds are experts at escaping uncomfortable or painful feelings and this is one reason we focus on keeping busy with others, focusing on other’s problems and the one who holds it all together.
It can be exhausting holding it together when there is underlying so called ‘negative’ emotion. It can take a lot of courage to face what is that lies under the avoidance strategies. A common conception is that we might fall apart if we let it be seen – what if we fell into relief, belief and one-ness far beyond the experience of the critical mind?
